The lab is recovering from the pandemic, currently with Linhe Xu as the only remaining original member. Linhe is a University of Rochester graduate who joined the lab as a PhD candidate in 2017. He is investigating the origins of diversity in neuronal cell size and its implications for brain development and evolution.
At Vanderbilt, the Herculano-Houzel lab continues the tradition of recruiting undergraduate students as its main workforce, contributing to teaching them data analysis in an integrative biology context and forming their critical thinking skills for their future careers of choice.
